Print & identity / Brand guidelines

Brand guidelines documents.

A clear document that keeps your brand consistent, whoever is using it. So your printer, your web person and your next hire all reach for the same colours and the same logo.

01 / Approach

One reference everyone can follow.

Guidelines exist to stop drift: the slightly wrong blue, the stretched logo, the third font nobody chose, all the small slips that make a business look less sure of itself.

We build the document around how you actually work. If most of your output is a shop window, a van and a Facebook page, the guidelines cover those in plain terms. If you print catalogues and brief agencies, we go deeper into layout and imagery. Either way the goal is a document people open and use, not a PDF that sits in a folder.

Our approach starts from your existing assets. We audit what you have, pin down the exact colour values and the correct logo versions, and set out the rules with real examples: right and wrong side by side. For tone of voice we collect references, sample sentences and a short word list, so writing sounds like you even when someone else holds the pen.

01

Built from an audit

We start by gathering what already exists, then tidy and document it rather than inventing rules nobody will keep.

02

Examples, not just rules

Right-and-wrong pairs show people what to do, which lands better than a page of instructions.

03

Sized to your needs

Eight tight pages or twenty-plus, we scope the document to how your brand is really used.

02 / How it works

From audit to finished document.

Day 1

Audit and brief

We collect your logo files, colours and existing print, and agree how far the document needs to go.

Week 1

Structure and drafts

We set the contents, lock the colour and type values and draft the core pages.

Week 2

Examples and tone

We add usage examples and, on the fuller version, imagery direction and tone of voice.

Week 2

Review and delivery

You review a full draft, we adjust, and you receive a print-ready and screen-ready PDF.

After

Updates when you grow

As you add products or team members we can extend the document rather than start again.

04 / FAQ

Questions, answered.

Do I need guidelines if I am a small business?

If only you touch the brand, Essentials is usually plenty. The moment you hire, brief a printer or work with a web person, a short document saves a lot of back and forth.

What is the difference between Essentials and Full guidelines?

Essentials covers logo, colour and type in about eight pages. Full guidelines add imagery direction, tone of voice and layout rules across twenty or more pages.

Can you write guidelines for a logo you did not design?

Yes. We audit your existing logo, capture the correct values and build the document around it.

What format do I receive?

A PDF set up for both screen and print. If you need editable templates as well, that sits within the team rollout.

Will this cover my website too?

The core rules on colour, type and logo apply everywhere. If you want detailed digital specs we can add a section for your web work.

How long does it take?

Essentials is usually about a week, full guidelines around two, depending on how much material we start with.
